Freya, a six-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier cross, captured the hearts of the nation last month when it was revealed she has spent her whole life in kennels and been rejected more than 18,000 times.

Staff at Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool, Merseyside, feared the dog would never find a home after she was recently diagnosed with epilepsy.

But after her story hit the headlines the centre was inundated with offers from across the globe - and US film director Michael Bay even offered the pooch a part in his latest Hollywood film, Transformers 5: The Last Knight after getting in touch on Twitter.

And after reading about her plight, Ray and Jackie Collins, from Cheadle Hulme, Greater Manchester, fell in love with Freya and agreed to give her a home. Now she stays with them.
